ABOUT THE SHOW

There’s more to being queer than coming out and getting married. Enter the raucous, radical, wildly funny world of Queerstories and enjoy an unexpected tale or two from a diverse line-up of stars and strangers.

Winner Best Spoken Word Sydney Fringe 2016, and fast becoming an institution in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, this critically acclaimed sell-out LGBTQI+ storytelling night is coming to Lismore for one night only.

The LGBTQI+ community has been sharing stories for centuries, creating histories, disrupting conventional ideas about family, love and community.

Join some of Australia’s best storytellers for an evening of reflections on lives well lived and battles fought, pride, prejudice, love and humour. The night will also launch the new Queerstories book, published by Hachette Australia and edited by host and curator Maeve Marsden.

Stories are shared on the Queerstories podcast, described by QNews Magazine as “a breath of fresh air in the saturated Australian market of podcast variety.”

Auslan interpreted.
