Northern Rivers Performing Arts (NORPA)

Lismore City Hall is the performance home of NORPA (Northern Rivers Performing Arts).

NORPA is shaping contemporary theatre from regional Australia.

The Northern Rivers region is NORPA’s physical and spiritual home – the company draws inspiration from its landscape, history, people and culture. NORPA is driven to tell our stories in accessible and dynamic ways. Their original works challenge perceptions of the performing arts. Their projects are ambitious and take us, and our audiences, to new places.

NORPA curates an annual Season of works from leading and emerging national companies that reflect the diversity of our community – balancing risky productions with sure-fire entertainment. You can expect robust conversation in the foyer at a NORPA performance and to be surprised by the work.

NORPA manages the Lismore City Hall in an innovative alliance with Lismore City Council as a regional cultural hub.

They are a not-for-profit organisation led by a management committee of local professionals, run by a small team of theatre and venue professionals, and supported by a large group of volunteers.
